Event Guide

Rental advice, event planning tips, and answers to common questions.

Running an esports tournament with a live audience? Whether it's a college LAN event or part of a larger expo, your spectator setup matters. Here’s how to plan your table and chair layout for a comfortable, crowd-friendly experience.

Estimate Attendance First
Start by estimating the number of viewers. A small local event may attract 30–50 spectators, while regional qualifiers can bring in 100 or more. Each of those guests needs a seat—and ideally, a clear line of sight to the screen.

Layout Strategy
Skip tables unless spectators will be eating or taking notes. Instead, focus on:

  • Straight or stadium-style rows of chairs
  • 3–4 feet of aisle space for safe access
  • Multiple sections if separating teams, VIPs, or general public

If food or laptops are involved, use:

  • 6-foot tables (seat 3 chairs per side)
  • 8-foot tables (seat 4 per side)

Recommended Quantities
For 50 guests:

  • 50 chairs
  • 6–8 tables (optional)

For 100 guests:

  • 100 chairs
  • 12–16 tables if needed

Pro Tip: Use Folding Furniture
Folding chairs and tables make setup and teardown quick. They're also easy to reposition if your event flow changes. Be sure to rent a few extras in case of overflow.

Accessibility and Aesthetics
Leave pathways for ADA compliance, and consider adding tablecloths or branded signs if you're streaming the event. The visual setup is part of the viewer experience, especially in photos or online broadcasts.
